Vidal Sassoon The Movie: The screenings have been rescheduled to 10/9 9:40 pm at HK Space Museum Lecture Hall and 13/9 9:30 pm at HK Arts Centre Agnes.b CINEMA!

 

The Family Game: the 24/8 7:15pm screening has been cancelled.

The second screening of The Family Game on 12/9 9:40 pm at HK Science Museum Lecture Hall remains unaffected.

Be enlightened by the fascinating seminar series offered at the 5th Summer International Film Festival with sharing by experts, scholars and filmmakers!

More than two decades have past since Taiwanese New Wave filmmakers such as Hou Hsiao-Hsien and Edward Yang had carved a niche for Taiwan’s cinema internationally. Film critics Bryan Chang and Matthew Cheng will discuss on the significance of this movement in New Taiwan Cinema and its Times, 14/8 (Sat) 3:45pm - The Grand Cinema, after the screening of  Dust in the Wind.

Hong Kong’s homegrown animation has been much overlooked in light of imported productions from Japan and the USA. Local animation artists Neco Lo and John Chan (Postgal) will engage in a dialogue on Hong Kong Animation: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, 28/8 (Sat) 7:00pm – Agnes b. CINEMA! after the screening of  The Postgal Animation Collection 2.0.

Free admission, conducted in Cantonese.

After over 45 films and an illustrious career that spans four decades, Japanese master filmmaker Yamada Yoji’s creativity is still as fresh as ever in our contemporary 21st century. Film scholar Shu Kei and film critic Cheng Chuen-wai will discuss on the master’s works in the last decade in Yamada Yoji in 21st Century, 3/9 (Fri) 9:00pm – Hong Kong Space Museum after the screening of Kyoto Story.
