See You at the 35th HKIFF!

The HKIFF Society is pleased to announce that the 35th edition of the HKIFF will take place from March 20 to April 5, 2011. Concurrent events – the 5th Asian Film Awards (AFA) will take place on March 21, 2011 with the 9th Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF) to be held from March 21-23, 2011

Past HAF projects shine at the 4th Asian Film Awards

The 4th Asian Film Awards (AFA) marked the outstanding achievements by film projects selected at the Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF)!  This year, six films received recognition, including Mother (HAF 2008) for Best Film, Best Actress and Best Screenwriter; Thirst (HAF 2008) for Best Visual Effects; Bodyguards and Assassins (HAF 2003) for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor; At the End of Daybreak (HAF 2007) for Best Newcomer and Best Supporting Actress; Karaoke (HAF 2008) for Best Editor; and City of Life and Death (HAF 2005) for Best Director and Best Cinematographer.

The 4th AFA Awards Ceremony will be broadcasted on 10 April at 8:30pm on a TV HD Channel, and 6:15am and 2:40pm on Phoenix Chinese Channel.

The 8th HAF saw a strong demand for participation with a 10% increase in pre-registered film financiers from Mainland China. Organizers also confirmed over 500 appointments – an approximate 10% increase on last year – to facilitate co-production ventures between top investors, producers and distributors with film projects from Asia.
